Dollie and Guy Skaggs are folk art woodcarvers from Elliott County, Kentucky.  Dollie has been carving all her life, saying that her dad gave her a pocketknife when she was young and she started whittling while watching the cows grazing in the fields.  Guy began carving several years ago when he retired.  They generally use pine wood to craft their folk art carvings.  They use wood retrieved from around their home as well as various other local places in Kentucky.  Dollie advised that no two woodcarvings are exactly alike.
